This is thought to be the Canary Scorpionfish, also called Goblinfish, native to reefs and coastal mud of the eastern Atlantic
around the Canary Islands, Madeira and the Azores. A small, mainly red, scorpionfish, it looks a little like other scorpionfish in the
region including the Small Red, S. notata, and even the Black (which can be red), S. porcus. It grows to 14cm long.
Like other scorpionfish, it is an ambush predator of fish and has highly venomous spines.
