The Quillback Rockfish is native to reefs of the northern Pacific coast of North America, from Alaska to California. Also called the Quillback Seaperch, as the name indicates, they have long, sharp dorsal spines. Like other rockfish, they inhabit the rocks and crevices of the sea floor. Usually a reddish brown colour, they grow to some 60cm long.
