The Crescent Grunter, also called Jarbua Terapon and Target Fish, are native to intertidal areas and both
fresh and marine habitats of the Indo-Pacific from eastern Africa through to Samoa (north to Japan and south to Australia).
Breeding and spawning is marine. They can produce grunting sounds for communication. The "Target" name relates to the view
of the fish from above.
They grow typically to 25cm long but can reach over 30cm and are predatory cleaner fish, ie eating smaller fish and
cleaning parasites and some scales off larger fish.
