The Red-mouthed Goby is native to coasts of the northeastern Atlantic from Ireland to Senegal, including the Mediterranean. It is reddish or red-brown with white banding and red lipstick. It grows to 18cm long. It is solitary and rarely moves far from its hiding hole.
