The Purple Dartfish, also called Purple Firefish and Elegant Firefish, is native to coral reefs in the Indian Ocean
and western Pacific. Dartfish are in the goby family.
It has a white body graduating to grey with a pink-purple patch from face to dorsal fin and fins of red and purple. It grows to 9cm long.
Pairs are monogamous. They dart into sandy burrows for protection. Diet is zooplankton.
