The Topknot is a left-eyed flatfish in the turbot family. It is native to coasts of the north-eastern Atlantic,
from the Baltic to Portugal. It is brown with mottled white spots, not fish-shaped, with a fringe of fin all the way round and a small tail.
Unlike most flatfish, it prefers rocky terrain to sand/mud and doesn't change its background colour to blend in but clings
motionless to rocks. It grows to 25cm long.
