Planehead Filefish Stephanolepis hispidus

The Planehead (also Bristle-tail) Filefish is native to coastal coral reefs of the western and eastern Atlantic, mainly in subtropical waters. Like other filefish, it has an erectible first dorsal fin like a sharp spine. It is a thin, laterally compressed fish and can grow to 28cm long but is usually some 18cm.
