The Redspot Cardinalfish is native to reefs of the western Pacific Ocean. Its is semi-translucent with black and adjacent turquoise lateral lines and a bright red spot just before the tail. They reach only some 4cm long. They pair up to spawn and the male will carry the eggs in his mouth for protection until they hatch.
