The Mediterranean Cardinalfish is native to reefs of the Mediterranean and the tropical/subtropical coast of the eastern Atlantic from Portugal to the Gulf of Guinea (including the Canaries and Azores). Its is orange-red and grows to 12-15cm long. Like most cardinalfish, is large-eyed and nocturnal.
