The Boarfish, rarely called Zulu fish, is the only fish in its genus; there are other fishes also called Boarfish in a
related genus in the same family. It is native to the northeastern Atlantic from Norway to Senegal including the Mediterranean. It has an
extendable mouth and a generally reddish or pinkish appearance. It grows typically to some 15cm for the smaller males to 20cm (an exceptional 30cm)
for larger females.
