Popeye Catalufa Pristigenys serrula

The Popeye Catalufa is one of the Bigeye family, sometimes called the Bigeye Soldierfish. Bigeyes are usually red and use their good eyesight to stalk prey (Popeyes eat small crustaceans and small fish) in deep water mainly at night.

The Popeye Catalufa is native to reefs and rocks of the Pacific Coast of the Americas. It grows to 20-34cm long. Juveniles have pale bars.
