Harlequin Hind Cephalopholis polleni

The Harlequin Hind, also called Harlequin Grouper and Harlequin Rock Cod, is related to the large Bass and Grouper fish as well as to the small and colourful Fairy Basslets. However it is a different genus to the Harlequin Bass, Serranus tigrinus. It is native to reefs of the Indian and western Pacific and can grow to some 40cm long. It is solitary and eats crustaceans and smaller fish.
