The Pacific Creolefish is an Anthias in the Bass and Grouper family of fish.
It is native to tropical reefs of the eastern Pacific. Even though it is a bass or grouper growing to some 36cm long, its diet is mainly plankton.
Young are yellow with 4-5 small, dark spots along the back. Most adults have 4-5 small, white spots along the back.
The Creolefish, sometimes called the Atlantic Creolefish, P. furcifer, is similar but native to warm
waters of the western Atlantic.
