Lamarck's Angelfish, also unhelpfully called the Blackstriped Angelfish, is native to reefs of the
western Pacific from Thailand to Japan and the Great Barrier Reef.
The female is shown above. She has a bold black upper stripe on the flank and a black border to the spotted tail.
Adult length is 25cm. All juveniles are female.
The male, above, doesn't have the bold black upper stripe but only thin black lateral stripes on the flank
and no black border to the spotted tail, but he develops a swallowtail.
