The Blueface Angelfish is native to tropical reefs of the eastern Indo-Pacific. It has a yellow face
(eye mask and chin) with a lacy blue face mask.
Adults have a large black eyespot on yellow at the rear end of the dorsal fin (not present on subadults) and a yellow tail.
They reach some 40 cm long.
Juveniles, like many Angelfish, are dark blue with white stripes.
