The Marbled White butterfly is native to much of Europe and western Asia, but not northern Scandinavia nor the
Iberian peninsula (the latter has its own separate species - the Iberian Marbled White).
In Britain, it is found in (mainly southern) England and Wales.
Males usually have a black pattern on white and females a dark brown pattern (both fade).
The underside of different individuals.
A coupled pair - the female underside hind wing is sepia on cream and the male is black on white.
