Ruby-spotted Swallowtail Butterfly Papilio anchisiades

The Ruby-spotted Swallowtail Butterfly, also sometimes called the Red-spotted Swallowtail is found from Texas in the USA to Argentina in South America. It has ruby spots on its body and looks a little like the Cattleheart family of Swallowtails (Parides), but is from the Papilio family and is not the Red-spotted Cattleheart of Mexico to Costa Rica.

These above are thought to be the female Ruby-spotted Swallowtail (the ones at the top then being males). A very different-looking butterfly - even the body spots are more orange than ruby.
