Pink Rose Swallowtail Butterfly Pachliopta/Atrophaneuras kotzebuea

The Pink Rose Swallowtail Butterfly is one of the red-bodied swallowtails unpalatable to predators and mimicked by black-bodied butterflies. It is native to the Philippines.

Male and female look similar but females are slightly larger with broader wings. From the topside the butterfly looks black with tails, but has red visible at the sides of its head and tip of its body.

The Pink Rose Swallowtail has plainer black wings than the Common Rose Swallowtail (the latter has "mormon-type" lined black and grey).
