The rare silver-spotted skipper in Britain is confined to chalk downland in southern England.
It is in steep decline in other European countries.
The brown hairstreak butterfly is in decline in its remaining areas of Britain (and Europe)
as hedgerows are cut back or removed, destroying its eggs.
