The eye patterns on the wings of the Peacock Butterfly, to deter predators, resemble the "eyes" in
peacock tail feathers, giving the brightly-coloured butterfly its common name.
The beautiful Peacock Butterfly is native to most of temperate Eurasia from western Europe
through to Japan.
