Almost a view of the diagnostic silver-washed green underside. It is feeding on wild marjoram (Origanum vulgare). The High Brown Fritillary, A. adippe, also present in UK and Tian Shan, Kazakhstan, and with a similar topside, has a very different orange and white underside.
