The Lesser Fiery Copper Butterfly is found from eastern and southern Europe to Central Asia including western China.
The female, above, has a black-spotted topside on orange.
The male, above, has a plainer, fiery orange topside with some markings on the hind wing (not shown); undersides are similar.

these in Kazakhstan (similar to Purple-shot Copper topside Lycaena alciphron
and Sooty Copper underside Lycaena tityrus but with a tail).
