The Asian Woolly-necked Stork is native to India and Southeast Asia. It has iridescent magenta and green plumage
on its chest, back and wings.
Previously just the "Woolly-necked Stork", the African subspecies was split into a separate species
(C. microscelis) in 2023 and both renamed Asian or African.
The Asian species has a cleaner (not speckled) border to the black cap.
Height is 0.8-0.9 metre.
