Abdim's Stork
Ciconia abdimii
Abdim's Stork has a blue face with a red eye and a purple iridescent sheen on its black plumage.
It is native to eastern sub-Saharan Africa and the adjacent corner of Yemen. (Abdim was an Ottoman governor in Sudan.).

Diet is mainly large insects like locusts but can include small vertebrates.
Confusingly, it is sometimes called the White-bellied Stork (many species of stork are white-bellied).
