The Straw-necked Ibis is native to Australia, New Guinea and Indonesia.
Showing the "straw" neck ("spinicollis") and its beautiful glossy iridescence.
Youngsters have woolly white necks and iridescence.
More iridescence and straw necks. They stand 60-70cm tall and have a wingspan of over a metre.
They tend to forage in groups and nest in colonies in reeds or trees by water.
