Glossy Ibis
Plegadis falcinellus
A migratory bird, the Glossy Ibis summers in temperate northern Europe/Asia/America and Australia and winters in Africa/Asia/Caribbean and Australia.
In recent years it has been an occasional vagrant to the UK and even bred there in 2022.
The juvenile has a grey head.

When not breeding, they live, feed and migrate in large flocks. Thanks to Alexandra Makhnina in Kazakhstan for pictures of flock in flight.
