The American White Ibis is native to wetlands (mainly coastal) of south-eastern USA and Central America through to Venezuela.
Adults have similar plumage; juveniles are brown.
It often roosts in mixed flocks with the related Scarlet Ibis where ranges overlap in South America
and has been known to interbreed with them, producing hybrids.
