White-faced Heron Egretta novaehollandiae

The White-faced Heron, common throughout Australasia, is smaller than the Grey Heron, - about the size of a large Little Egret.

Male and female have similar plumage

Its habitat is diverse fresh or brakish water edges and its diet is similar to other herons/egrets.

It is more arboreal than most other medium-sized herons/egrets.
