Rufous Hornbill Buceros hydrocorax

The Rufous Hornbill, also called the Philippine Hornbill, is native to several Philippine islands including some that the Writhed (Mindanao) Hornbill also inhabits. It has a remarkable bright red-orange bill and casque (some subspecies include red and yellow) and bright rufous/ginger head and neck, brown body/wings and white tail.

The male (above left) has blue eyes and some yellow on the neck; the female (centre) has brown eyes. Both have long white tails (right).
