The Cinerous Vulture, also called the (Cinerous) Black Vulture but unrelated to the American Black Vulture,
is the joint-largest vulture in the Eastern Hemisphere, together with the Himalayan Griffon Vulture which is of similar 9-10 foot wingspan.
It has dark brown plumage all over with a fluffy neck ruff and the longest beak of any vulture.
They are found in southwest Europe and a few isolated pockets in southeast Europe but their main range is from Turkey
through Iran and Central Asia to Tibet/China.
