Brahminy Kite
The Brahminy Kite is a small fish eagle resembling a kite-sized American Bald Eagle or African Fish Eagle more than the "Milvus" kites. It has a rounded rather than forked tail. In Australia it is called the Red-backed Sea Eagle. Its range is most of the Indian subcontinent and much of the coastal areas of southeast Asia including all of the Malay Peninsula, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and as far south as Australia. Thanks to Dr Harshan Vardhan Reddy for the image of the kite in flight.
