The Lanner Falcon is a large falcon with brown-grey or grey back/wings native to southern Europe and Africa.
The Lanner has rufous plumage on head and nape.
Fast and agile in flight.
The white, speckled front and rufous head.
Lanners also resemble small Peregrines and hybrids with Peregrines (Perilanner) are common in falconry.
The falcons immediately above look similar to a large Barbary Falcon but the orange on the nape, the size and front markings
indicate that they are (captive) Perilanners, hybrids of Peregrines for speed/strength and Lanners for increased agility.
