The Chilean Blue Eagle, also known as the Black-chested Buzzard-eagle, the Chilean Eagle and the Grey Eagle-buzzard
(sometimes in Buteo genus), is found over most of South America.
There are two subspecies, the Western (australis, shown here), slightly smaller and with fine dark bars shown on the
white underside ranges from Colombia through the Andes to Tierra del Fuego in the south,
and the Eastern nominate subspecies, slightly larger with plainer white underside ranging from Brazil through to NE Argentina.
