The Solitary or Collared Lory is native to Fiji. "Collared" is somewhat of a misnomer since the green plumage
at the neck is only on the sides.
The purple crown
The lion's mane
Yellow tail spots and black trousers
It is the only lory in genus Phigys
and is sometimes placed in genus Vini with
other Pacific Island lories such as the Blue-crowned although it resembles the black-capped lories in genus
Lorius.
