The Nestor genus covers 4 species: the New Zealand Kaka
(with 2 subspecies) above, the Norfolk Island Kaka (now extinct), the Chatham Island Kaka (extinct) and the Kea (link below).
Other New Zealand parrots include the Kakapo (the world's 4th rarest bird on "Edge" ranking) and the Kakarikis: the Red-crowned and Yellow-crowned Parakeets.
