A brightly-coloured little bird, this is the male Double-eyed Fig Parrot of Papua New Guinea and North-eastern Australia, also called the Red-faced Fig Parrot.
The female has similar brightly-coloured plumage but with a pale yellow cheek rather than red. They eat seeds of figs, berries and other plants.
