The Mulga Parrot, also called the Many-coloured, Multi-coloured or Varied, is native to the dry bush of central south Australia.
The male, shown above, as its name indicates, has bright patches of colour (red, gold/orange, royal blue)
on a turquoise-green background.
The female, like other grass parakeets, has more muted plumage. She has an olive-coloured
head and neck and duller patches of colour, but has a red patch rather than gold on her upper wing.
