Ruppell's Parrot Poicephalus rueppellii

Ruppell's/(Rueppell's) Parrot is native to southwest Africa (Namibia/Angola). Named after German naturalist Eduard Ruppell, they have brown-grey plumage with yellow on "shoulders" and thighs.

Unusually for birds, females/juveniles (above) are more colourful than males, with mid blue plumage on their back/rump/vent.
