The Green or Java Peafowl, a close relative of the well-known Blue Peacock/Peafowl, comes from Southeast Asia.
There are three recognised subspecies in different regions which differ slightly in the hue of green and blue.
The nominate is greener and the other two slightly more bluish green.
Unlike the Blue Peafowl, the male and female Green Peafowl look broadly similar for much of the year until the Peacock grows his train (tail).
