The COLLARED HILL PARTRIDGE, Arborophila gingica, also called the
White-necklaced, is native to elevated forests of southeastern China. It spends its time in thick shrub and undergrowth
but sleeps communally in trees.
There are 2 subspecies, one with a white and one with a chestnut brow.
It is threatened by hunting and habitat destruction and in danger of becoming extinct in the wild.
The CHESTNUT-BELLIED HILL PARTRIDGE, Arborophila javanica, as its scientific name indicates,
is native to mountain forests of Java, Indonesia.
