The Wattled Crane lives in large wetlands in sub-Saharan Africa. It is the second tallest crane after the Sarus.
Both male and female have the wattle. Despite its extensive range, the Wattled Crane is now rare.
The wattle can shrink if the bird is wary or elongate if excited. Like other cranes,
they have courtship displays and dances. Both parents look after young.
