The Fulvous Whistling Duck (fulvous means orange or yellowish-brown) is native to tropical areas in the Americas, Africa and Asia.
The Fulvous Whistling Duck is like a conventional duck on water but is a long-legged, upright, goose-like duck on land.
The plumage of the drake and duck is similar. The claws (top row) are for perching in trees.
The back of the neck is dark.
