Cape Teal (Cape Wigeon, African Cape Teal, Pink-billed Teal) Anas capensis

The Cape Teal comes from sub-Saharan Africa. Drake and duck have similar plumage.

Except for the convention of ringing the bird's right leg for the male and left leg for the female, it would be hard to tell the male from the female Cape Teal (but they seem to know which is which!).
