Meller's Duck Anas melleri

Meller's Duck is native to swampy forests of eastern Madagascar. It is one of the world's most endangered duck species due to continued hunting, deforestation and degradation of water quality.

Both male and female look similar to a very dark female mallard but with white-bordered green "speculum" and a teal blue-green beak.

A small population introduced in Mauritius is also near extinction.
