Hybrid Gadwall and Northern Shoveller

This duck with a Shoveller-type bill, green head marking and Gadwall-type body is a hybrid of Northern Shoveller and Gadwall.

Unfortunately the duck was a long distance away so the photos are poor.

Both parent species are prevalent in significant numbers at Rye Meads Nature Reserve, UK, where the photos were taken.
