Magpie Goose Anseranas semipalmata
The Magpie Goose is a large black and white goose native to northern Australia and southern New Guinea.
It is a prehistoric living fossil totally distinct from other living goose species.
It has an unusual-shaped head and bill, bare face and its clawed feet have little webbing.
It can and does swim. They pair for life - sometimes a trio - and both parents incubate and raise the young.
