Smew - female Mergellus albellus
The female Smew duck is less startling than her clownish male.
A sober grey suit with red-brown head and white cheeks and chin.
Jumping up and down on the water when her mate looked at another woman
(extent of white on cheek varies; could distant bird be young male?)
