Although called pygmy geese because of the small goose-like beak, pygmy geese are small ducks. The Cotton Pygmy Goose is native to southern and Southeast Asia, with a subspecies in northern Australia adjacent to the Green Pygmy Goose territory. It is one of the smallest ducks. Males' have dark green wings with a white border; females (shown) have dark brown wings with little white edging; the male also has a dark breast bar or collar and dark bill while the female has a yellowish bill.
