The African Olive Pigeon, also called the Rameron Pigeon, is native to montane forest and shrub regions of southern and eastern Africa and adjacent parts of the Arabian Peninsula. Male and female have similar grey and maroon speckled plumage; juveniles are darker brown. Diet is mainly fruit and berries, supplemented by clay/earth to neutralise the acidity and add minerals.
