The Crested Pigeon is a type of bronzewing and like all bronzewing pigeons is native to Australia.
It is common in most areas except the far north.
Both male and female have the crest and the "bronze" wing of many petrol colours visible in the right light/direction.
The Crested Pigeon (above) is larger and more common than the only other pigeon with a spiky crest,
the more colourful Spinifex Pigeon (not pictured), also from Australia.
